Keyboard shortcuts

The keys that work everywhere, then the ones that only work in one studio.

F2 opens this list inside the app, on whatever you have open. Inkwell also has a rebindable shortcut editor: search a command, press the keys you want, and it warns you about conflicts before you commit to them.

Everywhere#

Cmd / Ctrl + KCommand palette
F1Settings, on the Settings tab, not Documentation, whatever the More menu says beside it
F2This shortcut list
F4Command Center
F11Fullscreen
Cmd / Ctrl + NNew project
Cmd / Ctrl + SSave
Cmd / Ctrl + ZUndo
Cmd / Ctrl + Y, or Cmd / Ctrl + Shift + ZRedo
Del / BackspaceDelete the selection
Cmd / Ctrl + C / X / VCopy / cut / paste: across studios, not just within one

Undo is per person, not per room. In a shared session, Ctrl+Z undoes what you did.

Inkwell#

Inkwell takes the function keys for itself. Inside it, F1 is Help, F5 opens Brush Settings and F7 the colour palette. The global F1 is not reachable from that studio, use the More menu.

The tool keys are single letters, with no modifier, twenty-two of them:

VMoveKGradient
MSelectionIEyedropper

Sculpt#

Sculpt's bindings are rebindable: this is the shipped set.

Modes:

Q or SSculptYPose
WMoveMMask
ERotateRScale

Q and S both drop to sculpt: ZBrush muscle memory on one side, the toolbar's Q W E R Y row on the other. Both are kept.

Brushes:

BStandardPPinch
CClayLFlatten
NInflateKCrease
ShiftSmooth, held

Shift smooths whatever brush you are holding. It is the single most useful key in the studio.

Pulse#

They are printed along the bottom of the window.

Fusion#

Fusion has 53 shortcuts by default, in seven categories, and a Shortcuts Editor that rebinds any of them. It also ships three presets, Premiere, DaVinci and Final Cut: plus Custom, so you can bring the muscle memory you already have.

The defaults, in the Premiere layout:

Vectra#

Not shortcuts, but they are on the toolbar for a reason:

Engine#

The Engine publishes its own commands into the command palette (Cmd / Ctrl + K) and keeps a dedicated shortcut panel in its settings; it has far more than fit here, and they are searchable there.
